About the Book, courtesy of the publisher:
Elaine Aron follows up her bestsellers on the highly sensitive person with a groundbreaking new book on the undervalued self. She explains that self-esteem results from having a healthy balance of love and power in our lives. Readers will learn to incorporate love into situations that seem to require power and deal with power struggles that mask themselves as issues of love. From the bedroom to the boardroom, her strategies will enable us to escape feelings of shame, defeat, and depression; dissolve relationship hostility; and become our best selves.

  3. Oh, I am terrible about taking time for myself, and I tend to clutter my mind with nonsense to keep me from having to reflect on my life too much and risk getting frustrated or disappointed in somewhere I've fallen short. And I have a tendency to undervalue myself and sacrifice my own happiness for that of others. I think that I could probably use this one!

  5. This book could possibly provide me with some help that I need at this time. I have discovered after having an injury that caused permanent damage that I don't have as many friends as I thought. I need to learn how to deal with the disappointments in my life so that I can truly heal someday.

  6. The idea that power over one's own life is key to developing true self value is something I'd love to read more about. I can definitely relate to the people this book is aiming to help.

  9. While in a local bookstore I accidently found The Undervalued Self. As I read it at the store it spoke to both my current and past self. After 30 years at a single organization my job was eliminated just as the economy was faltering. Now at a very difficult point in my life, jobless and feeling powerless in terms of my future I am at a standstill. I have lost the motivation I once had; in terms of myself I don’t feel that same power. Is there a person or a group etc out there and a way of getting an on line version of the book?
